Player's code of Conduct

  1. I will play for fun.
  2. I will work hard to improve my skills.
  3. I will follow and learn from my coach’s directions and suggestions.
  4. I will learn and play by the rules of the game / organization.
  5. I will play fair and try hard during the game and remember that winning isn’t everything.
  6. I will always respect my teammates, opponents, coaches, members of the organization and officials.  If I choose to fight understand that I will be suspended, indefinitely, from the Youth Council.
  7. I will not boo, taunt or yell negative comments about my team, my coach, the opponents or the officials.
  8. I will never argue with an official’s decision.
  9. I will always shake hands with my opponents after the game.
  10. I will try to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the game so I can warm up.
  11. I will be dressed in full uniform. If I am not dressed in full uniform I will not be allowed to play in that game.
    Soccer: regulation shirt, regulation shorts, socks, shin-guards and cleats (or sneakers for Future Stars and Instructional). No hats or visors allowed during game play.
    Baseball/Softball: regulation shirt, regulation pants and regulation cap. No metal cleats allowed.

Parents / Spectators Code of Conduct

  1. I will not force my child to participate in a sport.
  2. I will remember that children participate in athletics to have fun and that the game is for the youth and not adults.
  3. I will let the coach do the coaching and I will refrain from yelling direction to the players.
  4. I will speak to the coach after the game and not in front of the children if I have any concerns.
  5. If necessary I will speak to those in charge of the program as soon as possible and not let issues linger.
  6. I will respect the rules of the game and never argue with the officials.
  7. I will respect the rules of the organization.
  8. I will be a positive role model by supporting and respecting the players, coaches, spectators and officials at every game and practice.  If my child chooses to fight I understand that he/she will be suspended, indefinitely, from the Youth Council.
  9. I will support the members of the organization.
  10. I will not boo or taunt any player, coach or official.
  11. I will recognize all players’ efforts and encourage everyone’s best performance over the outcome of the game.
  12. I will cheer for all the children on the team, not just my own.
  13. I will value skill development, fair competition and effort.
  14. I will have my child arrive on time for all practices and games and let the coach know in advance if my child will be absent, arriving late or leaving early.  I understand that if my child attends less than half of the games he/she may not be allowed to participate in the playoff games.
  15. I will try and support the team and my child by being at his / her game.
  16. I will not encourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and well-being of the athletes.
  17. I will not go on the playing field during game play.
  18. I will have my child wear sports safety goggles instead of eyeglasses.

Coaches Code of Conduct

  1. I will make skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, fun and learning the rules of the game the goals of my team.
  2. I will be a positive role model by respecting my team, our opponent, members of the organization and the officials.  If any one of my players chooses to fight I understand that he/she will be suspended, indefinitely, from the Youth Council.
  3. I will learn and play by the rules of the game / organization and never argue with the official’s decision.
  4. I will be generous with my praise, emphasizing the children’s effort and not the outcome of the game.
  5. I will be fair, honest and consistent in my coaching philosophies and practices.
  6. I will ensure that all children have an equitable playing experience consistent with the rules and regulations of the organization guidelines for each program.  Children must play at least half of the game.
  7. I will strive to hold regularly scheduled organized practices before and throughout the season.
  8. I will ask my assistant coaches, my players, and my parents to refrain from booing, taunting and yelling negative comments regarding either team.
  9. I will not encourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and well-being of the athletes.
  10. I will wear my Youth Council shirt while on the field.
